When you report an incident, there is no pressure for you to formally report anything. However, if the matter is of significant concern, the university may need to take appropriate action.

What happens when I make a report - quick guide
I am reporting anonymously

The report will be viewed by an administrator. As the report is anonymous, we will not know who has made the report and will be unable to contact you directly and offer you any advice or support. 

The administrator will review the report to identify any risks that relate to our duty of care. If there is significant concern, the report will be investigated in accordance with university policies. If there are no immediate risks  identified, no further action will be taken. 

Information provided within anonymous reports will be used as statistical data to understand what is  happening and to inform proactive prevention work and address any concerning trends. 

I am reporting with my contact details

The report will be viewed by an administrator who will assign the report to a member of the People Experience & Culture (PEC) Team. 

The PEC Team member will contact you to discuss the nature of the report.

Dependant on the nature of the report, you may be signposted to relevant internal/external agencies or University policies and guidance.  You may also be referred back to the Report & Support tools provided within this platform

The How We Work policy sets out expectations on the ways of working and standards of behaviour for all staff, within which the following principles are included: Trust & Support, Honesty & Integrity, Inclusivity and Dignity & Respect.

Where your report suggests that the expected standards have not been met and/or the report is of significant concern, we may decide to take action in accordance with relevant university policies (or signpost you to them).
